• Tender Brief: Majis is seeking proposals from qualified geotechnical consultants to conduct a comprehensive soil investigation for Majis’s new plot at Sohar Free Zone – 2. This land will house ground reservoirs, pump stations, elevated water tanks, etc. The purpose of this investigation is to assess subsurface conditions, provide recommendations for soil improvement (if necessary), and recommendations for various types of foundations.
• Scope of Work: 1 Mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment and personnel to and from site, including necessary excavator, water for drilling works 2 Establishment at Borehole Locations and making good after completion 3 Rotary drilling through ground up to a maximum of 15 m depth with sampling and coring 7 Excavation, logging and sampling of trial pits and making good after completion Laboratory Testing 8 Particle size distribution 9 Atterberg limits 10 Moisture - Density relationship 11 Chemical test for pH, So3 and Cl 12 Unconfined compressive strength 13 For Organic-matter content 14 Dry bulk, apparent bulk. (Provisional) 15 Point load test on rock (Provisional) 16 Direct Shear test 17 Oedometric tests (on clay levels) 18 Maximum pressure of expansion/swelling tests (in case of clay soil) (Provisional) 19 Water complete analysis 20 Modified Proctor test. 21 CBR-Test. 22 In situ dry density and moisture test (Provisional) 23 Triaxial compaction tests 24 Specific Gravity test 25 Analysis, interpretation of data, preparation and submission of Geotechnical survey and report (1 hard copies+1soft copy)
• Payment Terms: a) 10 % of the total amount will be paid as advance i.e within 15 days of submission of the invoice. b) The remainder 90% will be paid withing 30 days after completion of work and provision of report. c) The geotechnical agency is expected to include costs for all equipment and resources such as excavators and necessary water to execute the works.
