Supply And Installation Of One Common Cooling Water Pump and Motor Set At Majis’ Common Cooling Water System Facility

• Tender Brief: The existing common cooling water system (CCWS) will cater to the cooling water requirement of small user industries in the SIPC area. The CCWS mainly consists of 5 nos. Vertical turbine pumps and a network of pipelines spread inside Sohar Industrial Port Area. The previously installed 3 pumps (2 Working+1 Standby) are connected with an 11kV Variable frequency drive and hydraulically operated butterfly valves on each pump discharge header. They are equipped with a pump/motor condition monitoring system, lubrication system, and field instruments. In 2018, a 4th pump was added to increase CCWS capacity. This tender is for enhancing the reliability and availability of CCWS by supplying and installing the 6th pump of vertical turbine design and 15000 m3/hr capacity with a discharge head of 35 meters in the common discharge manifold. It will replace one of the old 3 CCWS pumps mentioned above, which is due for an overhaul.

• Payment Terms: Conditions of Contract shall be the Omani STANDARD DOCUMENTS FOR BUILDING AND CIVIL ENGINEERING WORKS FOURTH EDITION SEPTEMBER 1999. Payments shall be within 40 days upon the receipt of the original invoice subject to review and approval, including a 10-day review period for each invoice. The advance payment will be paid within 10 days from the date of receipt of the invoice provided that an approved advance bond (10% of CV), performance bond (5%of CV), and insurance have been received. This amends the relevant clauses in the STANDARD DOCUMENTS FOR BUILDING AND CIVIL ENGINEERING WORKS FOURTH EDITION SEPTEMBER 1999. *Retention money of a maximum of 5% of the contract value will be deducted from the payments to the contractor during project execution at the rate of 10% of interim certificate value and till the amount of 5% of the contract value is retained with the employer. Half of the retention money will be released after completing the project whereas the other half will be released after one year (defects & liability period).
